Largely self-taught, John Nolan began his musical journey more than 30 years ago, inspired by the great balladeers and singer-songwriters of the late 60s and early 70s. His beautiful style is rooted in folk and traditional music though defies strict categorization. In his songwriting, John aims to offer his listeners refreshing perspectives on timeless themes. Whether musing about the whimsical days of childhood (“Barefoot Boy”), dealing with tragedy (“Will To Forgive”) or acheiving one’s dreams (“Autumn Day”), John strives to emotionally connect with all his listeners. Listen to these tracks and others from his album Songs of John of Nolan below, as heard on public radio's The Folk Sampler with Mike Flynn. |
